We’re thrilled to announce that “Visions of Warriors” will be screening at the Santa Maria Public Library on Monday, 5/6/19, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in honor of National Mental Health Awareness Month. Through its Veterans Connect @ the Library program, this library connects veterans and their families to benefits and services for which they’re eligible. National Mental Health Awareness Month raises awareness about and educates the public on mental health as well as reduces the stigma of mental illness. “Visions of Warriors” will be screening at the Riverside Public Library / SSgt. Salvador J. Lara Casa Blanca Library on Monday, 3/18/19, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This screening is part of a series of events dedicated to veterans—the InLandia Institute Veterans Writing Workshop on Monday, 3/11/19 at 4:00 p.m. and “Proud to be of Service” Art Program on Monday, 3/25/19 at 4:00 p.m. These events are made possible by “Californians: Community Conversations with Veterans,” a partnership between the California Center for the Book and Veterans Connect @ the Library. The library’s community partner for this screening is the InLandia Institute. According to their site, their mission is to “recognize, support, and expand literary activity in all of its forms in the Inland Empire by publishing books and sponsoring programs that deepen people’s awareness, understanding, and appreciation of this unique, complex and creatively vibrant region.” Thank you so much to Tina Zdilor, Jon Andersen, the Riverside Public Library / SSgt. “VISIONS OF WARRIORS” IS IN THE CANADIAN ART THERAPY ASSOCIATION’S “ENVISAGE”

We’re very excited to announce that “Visions of Warriors” is in the Canadian Art Therapy Association’s beautiful online magazine, “Envisage.” Founded in 1977, the respected Canadian Art Therapy Association or Association Canadienne d’Art Therapie (CATA-ACAT) unites and promotes the emerging profession of art therapy in Canada. According to their site, Envisage is “not only a vibrant platform for art therapists to be recognized for their work and learn from each others’ diverse practices, it is also a valuable tool to promote the innovative work of art therapists in other professional fields and communities.” We’re deeply honored to share our documentary with the thriving Canadian art therapy community. “VISIONS OF WARRIORS” TO SCREEN AT THE WOODWARD PARK REGIONAL LIBRARY IN FRESNO, CA

We’re thrilled to announce that “Visions of Warriors” will be screening at the Woodward Park Regional Library in Fresno, CA on Tuesday, 4/23/19, at 6:00 p.m. This library is part of the extensive Fresno County Public Library system, which offers Veterans Resource Centers at their Central Branch Library and Betty Rodriguez Branch Library. This screening is made possible by “Californians: Community Conversations with Veterans,” a partnership between the California Center for the Book and Veterans Connect @ the Library. The library’s community partner for this screening is CalVet (California Department of Veterans Affairs). According to their site, “CalVet strives to ensure that its veterans of every era and their families get the state and federal benefits and services they have earned and deserve as a result of selfless and honorable military service.” Ryan Gardner, the clinical social worker who’s featured in the documentary, and Ming Lai, the director, will be attending the screening and participating in a Q&A afterward.
