We’re truly honored to screen “Visions of Warriors” at the Vandenburg Air Force Base on Tuesday, 8/6/19, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The goal of our documentary has always been to assist both veterans and active military. We deeply appreciate this wonderful opportunity to share our film with this storied Air Force base. Established in 1941 and located on California’s Central Coast, Vandenburg is the third largest Air Force base in the U.S. and host of the 30th Space Wing. This screening is made possible by many helping agencies at the base—their Mental Health team, Legal team, Inspector General (IG), Equal Opportunity (EO), Sexual Assault Response and Prevention (SAPR), and Special Victim’s Counsel (SVC). “VISIONS OF WARRIORS” TO SCREEN AT CAMARENA MEMORIAL LIBRARY IN CALEXICO, CA
“Visions of Warriors” will be screening at the Camarena Memorial Library in Calexico, California on Thursday, 6/27/19 at 5:30 p.m. The screening will be in honor of PTSD Awareness Day. According to their site, “Traditional and innovative library services, including the latest technology, are offered in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, which reflects the unique border community of Calexico.” The library offers a vital Veterans Resource Center, where “Veterans and their families can meet with trained volunteers, which are veterans themselves, and get connected to information and resources regarding health, education, employment, housing, and other benefits that they may be entitled to.” Thank you to the Camarena Memorial Library, their Veterans Connect @ the Library program, Martha Gomez, and Sandra Tauler for this great opportunity.

“VISIONS OF WARRIORS” TO SCREEN AT THE BRITISH ASSOCIATION OF ART THERAPISTS / INTERNATIONAL ART THERAPY PRACTICE/RESEARCH CONFERENCE
“Visions of Warriors” will be screening at the British Association of Art Therapists / International Art Therapy Practice/Research Conference on Saturday, 7/13/19, between 4:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. Because this feature documentary is 93 minutes long, a 10-minute preview will be screened. The screening will take place at the historic Queen Mary University of London, whose history dates back to 1785. According to their site, the respected British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) is a “professional organization for art therapists in the UK” and “works to promote art therapy and provides professional support and advice to its members.” At its dynamic International Art Therapy Practice/Research Conference, “art therapists from 35 countries present the newest of practice innovations and research.” Thank you to Val Huet, Alex McDonald, and the British Association of Art Therapists for this great honor!

We’re excited to announce that “Visions of Warriors” will be screening at the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health / Veterans and Loved Ones Recovery (VALOR) on Wednesday, 5/15/19, at 12:30 p.m. in celebration of Mental Health Month. The screening will take place at their headquarters in the historic Bob Hope Patriotic Hall. According to their site, VALOR’s mission is to “provide mental health services to Veterans and their families, regardless of VA eligibility status and military discharge, in a supportive environment.” The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health’s mission, in turn, is to “optimize the hope, recovery, wellbeing, and life trajectory of Los Angeles County’s most vulnerable through access to care and resources that promote not only independence and personal recovery but also connectedness and community reintegration.” Built in 1916, the Bob Hope Patriotic Hall is a Los Angeles landmark, serving as the home of the Los Angeles Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and many veterans services organizations. “Visions of Warriors” will be screening at the Fremont Main Library on Sunday, 5/26/19, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. We’re very excited that our documentary will be returning to the San Francisco Bay area, where it was made. The Fremont Main Library and the Dublin Library are two libraries within the Alameda Country Library system that offer Veterans Resource Centers. Created by a partnership between the California public libraries and the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet), these Veterans Resource Centers connect veterans and their families to benefits and services for which they are eligible. The Fremont Main Library’s community partner for this screening is the Fremont Family Resource Center. According to their site, they are “a welcoming place where families and individuals are nurtured, encouraged, and provided quality services to build on their own strengths to help themselves and others.” This event is made possible by a partnership between the California Center for the Book and Veterans Connect @ the Library.
